This year’s summer camp was held at Brettagh Holt near Levens.

The facilities were great, with one big dorm for everyone to sleep in, a huge hall about 10 meters away to do lots of training and lots and lots of green fields to play FOOTBALL!
Everyone arrived on Sunday afternoon, they had a tour of the grounds and picked their bed for the week! After tea, bangers and mash we played football.

Monday was the first day of training for our new belts. We did lots of training and had a long break for lunch, we played some more football. Then back to Ju-Jitsu training.

We started Tuesday with a morning run, which everyone enjoyed!!! After breakfast we started on training again. In the afternoon we did some nunchaku training which a lot of people really enjoyed. After an early tea, we set off to the cinema to see GI Joe. The film was brilliant.

Wednesday, no morning run!!!!!!! Back to it again, training is going really well and everyone is learning lots of new moves. After a delicious lunch of jacket spuds, we did some practice for demonstrations. At 4pm we set off to Carlisle for a nunchaku and Ju-Jitsu class. When we got back, we started a ping pong tournament. Sensei was the winner!

Thursday, no morning run again, cos we went to Chill Factor...yerrrrrr! It didn’t take very long to get there, so when we did, we had a big cooked breakie ready for skiing. At 10am we all got geared up with pants, jackets, ski’s and boots. Some people had a lesson whilst the others had a ski pass for the slope. It was a brilliant day. We got back about 3pm and chilled out till 5pm, had tea and then set off to Windermere for some more training.

Friday was the last day for training, everyone made the most of it by going through all the moves before the grading tomorrow. In the afternoon everyone went to maize maze, it was very wet, but lots of fun. The ping pong tournament continued on Friday night.

On Saturday morning, we were up bright and early. We all got packed up and on the bus ready for the grading. Keelan, Shane, Liam and Tom went with Rachel to do a Tesco bag pack at Carlisle to raise funds for the European Nunchaku Championships. Everyone did very well in their grading and the Tesco bag pack was a great success too.

WHAT AN EXCELLENT CAMP 2009!

Thank you Sensei and Rachel!
